James Willie WILLINGHAM5(John4Alfred3Alfred2Archibald1) [1,2,3] was born 03 Aug 1909[1,2,3] in Brenham, Washington County, Texas, USA.  It was during the East Texas Oilfield conflict that Willie decided to join the military[24]; he had gone to the train station with his bride to be, Irene Schaefer, to see some friends off, got excited, and jumped on the train carrying the troops to East Texas as the train left Brenham, Washington County, Texas, USA in 1931.  He joined the service and served in East Texas during that conflict.  After martial law in the East Texas field was discontinued, Willie Willingham was a member of Troop E, 124th Cavalry, led by Stable Sergeant Joe Gurka.  When, in March 1942, the War Department abolished the horse cavalry, James Willie Willingham left military service because he had four children and was thus classified 4F all during World War II. In October 1942, the family left Brenham and moved to La Porte, Harris County, Texas, USA until their first two children graduated from High School and moved to Houston.  Willie and Irene with their younger two children move to Houston in October 1952.  Willie worked until retirement at Paty General Tire Company, later known as Ashland Oil Company, in Baytown, Harris County, Texas, USA.

Willie married 24 Mar 1932 in Brenham, Washington County, Texas, USA [2, 3]Irene SCHAEFER who was born 27 Feb 1914[1, 6]  in Salem, Washington County, Texas, USA and died of phemonia[4] 9 Mar 2008[4, 5]  in Conroe, Montgomery County, Texas, USA. (obit)  He died 27 Dec 1988[4, 5]  in Conroe, Montgomery County, Texas, USA of emphazemia.[4] (obit)  . Willie and Irene are both buried in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham, Washington County, Texas, USA.

He married Helen Jane HAIR[18] who was born 27 Aug 1933[20, 25] in Hale County, Texas, USA[20, 25].  She was the daughter of George Dudley HAIR (20 Feb 1899 Big Spring, Howard, Texas, USA  1899 - Mar 1963  Plainview Rural, Texas, USA  1963)[20, 25,  27, 28, 29] and  Myra Beth MONTGOMERY (15 May 1901 Decatur, Wise County, Texas, USA - 17 Feb 1986 Tyler, Smith County, Texas, USA)[20, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29].

Katherine Louise WILLINGHAM6(James5John4Alfred3Alfred2Archibald1) was born 23 Oct 19341, 7]. and baptized 25 Nov 1934[1]. in Brenham, Washington County, Texas, USA[1, 8]. She married Richard Adams HALE[1, 11].  They divorced and he died.  She married in Travis County, Texas, USA[34] on 5 Aug 1966[34] to Howard Allen WOERNER[34] who was born 1934[34].

Joyce Ann WILLINGHAM6(James5John4Alfred3Alfred2Archibald1) was born 14 Mar 19361, 7]. and baptized 2 Aug 1936[1] in Brenham, Washington County, Texas, USA[1, 6, 9].  She married 24 Oct 1957[1, 2] in Houston, Harris County, Texas, USA to Alfred Lynn JACKSON who was born 29 Aug 1935 in Diboll, Angelina County, Texas, USA.

Kenneth Wayne WILLINGHAM6(James5John4Alfred3Alfred2Archibald1) was born 15 Oct 1938[1, 10 ]and baptized 9 Apr 1939[1]. in Brenham, Washington County, Texas, USA[1, 10].  He married 14 Nov 1992 in Pasadena, Harris County, Texas, USA to Sandra Jo. RICHARDSON who was born 15 Dec 1940[21] in Freestone County, Texas, USA[21].  She was the daughter of J.C. RICHARDSON and Annigene CHILDS.[21].
