ODDFELLOWS CEMETERY
Located one mile west of the courthouse in Anderson, Grimes County, Texas. Take 149 west out of Anderson about one mile just past County Road 250. The cemetery will be on the left just past Zion Lutheran Church.
The cemetery was given by Mrs. John F. Martin. She and her husband, who was living down the hill, were planning on building their new home underneath the tall oaks on the high hill. In February 1846, Mr. Martin suddenly became ill and died. She buried him there under the tall oak trees in the place he loved. After being used as a family cemetery, the land was given to the Oddfellows Lodge. It was enlarged with land owned by Christian Becker.
Only the row with my ancestor Mattie Mae Willingham Brown was copied as her husband was no blood kin to me. For further information, note the source below.
